Infrastructure Systems Engineer

As an Infrastructure Systems Engineer at General Dynamics Information Technology, you will provide innovative solutions to intricate challenges. Your role will involve customizing advanced technologies to meet the specific needs of our clients. Role Overview

In this position, you will be responsible for the design, configuration, and troubleshooting of server, storage, and application frameworks. You will oversee the operational management and upkeep of server hardware and software. This includes managing Microsoft Active Directory objects, Group Policy Objects, and DNS zones/records. You will also maintain system security, execute best practices, monitor usage statistics and logs, and address vulnerabilities. Your tasks will include establishing and maintaining baseline configurations and modifying configuration settings as necessary. You will implement troubleshooting and incident response protocols, resolve system-related issues, and provide leadership and mentorship to junior administrators. A deep understanding of networking architecture is essential for effective server and application design and troubleshooting. Staying updated on operating systems, software analysis, and technological advancements will be crucial. You will also provide recommendations for future projects to management and offer expertise in the development, modification, and documentation of software programs and applications to enhance operating systems.

Educational Requirements:

Associate's degree or 2+ years of equivalent experience DOD compliant (Network + / Security + certified)

Skills and Competencies:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering Proficient with VMWare vCenter/vSphere 6.7 or higher Familiarity with VMware Horizon VDI Desktops and Applications Knowledge of NAS/SAN storage architectures and protocols Experience with Microsoft Server environments Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP High-level networking comprehension Ability to operate at a high technical level across all phases of systems engineering tasks Strong communication and presentation skills; demonstrates effective listening and follow-through Anticipates inquiries and prepares comprehensive responses Detail-oriented and organized; capable of understanding information systems and ensuring work accuracy Provides technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineers and administrators

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

Experience with Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects and Servers Familiarity with NetApp AFF/FAS Storage Knowledge of F5 Load Balancers Experience with Azure Cloud services Knowledge of Rubrik Backup solutions MCITP or equivalent preferred ITIL v3 Foundation certification

TS/SCI Clearance Required

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift over 35 lbs
