Email Automation Specialist Job Description

At SHRM, we are seeking a highly skilled Email Automation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our marketing department, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing personalized and automated campaigns through digital marketing platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute email campaigns that drive acquisition, conversion, retention, and engagement.
  • Partner with internal teams to define, launch, and troubleshoot email and SMS campaigns.
  • Lead technical enablement of A/B testing and encourage testing and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain email marketing, SMS, and lead generation databases.
  • Build complex database queries against Boolean, string, date, and integer database fields.
  • Build relational database queries using one-to-many and many-to-many relationships.
  • Stay up-to-date with marketing technology and platforms and their abilities relating to data and marketing automation.
  • Lead email transformation efforts across the organization to improve channel engagement and create a personalized member-centric experience.
  • Enforce email brand standards to ensure that all emails conform to branding and style guides.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • CRM experience with Salesforce.
  • SMS experience with Adobe Vibes, Hustle, Community, and Adobe Journey Optimizer.
  • Adobe Suite experience with Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Analytics, and Adobe Journey Optimizer.
  • Ability to troubleshoot HTML and CSS coding problems.
  • Understanding of basic programming concepts including variables, order of operations, logic operators, inner and outer database joins.
  • Proficient with email service providers including Marketo and HubSpot.
  • Knowledge of email reputation monitoring.

Work Environment:

The work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity is required to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal. The work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
