Job Summary

The Rooms Controller will play a crucial role in maximizing revenue and quality service levels for guests at our hotel. This position requires collaboration with various departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date room inventory across all systems, including Property Management System (PMS), Revenue Management System (RMS), and Central Reservations System (CRS).
  • VIP and Upgrade Management: Block VIPs and identified members into upgraded room types, while allocating the proper number of rooms for upgrades performed by the front desk that generate revenue.
  • Out of Order and Out of Service Rooms: Manage inventory of out-of-order and out-of-service rooms, following up with departments such as Housekeeping, Engineering, and Front Desk, and updating the Revenue Management team.
  • Group Strategy Meetings: Participate in group strategy meetings to ensure group inventory is managed accordingly down to the room type level.
  • Inventory Balancing: Ensure inventory across all systems is in balance and take corrective action in the event of variances.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Revenue Management or Hotel Leadership team.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Typically requires a high school diploma and 2 to 4 years of experience.
  • Work Environment: Performs work under general supervision, handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Leadership: May provide leadership coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
