Job Overview

Position: Lead Teacher for 3-K Program

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Lead Teacher for our 3-K program. This role offers the chance to significantly impact the lives of young children. You will be responsible for the daily care and educational development of students, demonstrating exemplary professional behavior and prioritizing the safety and well-being of both children and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the Department of Education's Units of Study.
  • Guide, mentor, and exemplify positive behaviors for students.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Conduct daily classroom instruction, lead circle time, and facilitate small group activities.
  • Gather data through various assessments to inform lesson planning.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress.
  • Engage in meaningful conversations with children.
  • Document daily observations and interactions.
  • Complete required online professional development training.
  • Create and manage an Aspire account for professional growth.
  • Participate in mandatory staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education.
  • NYS Certification for Birth-2 is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant teaching experience is required.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Willingness to undergo DOE fingerprinting if not already completed.
  • Able to secure full medical clearance.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices is essential.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Must comply with state-specific guidelines for this position.
  • Experience in an integrated educational setting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IEPs, educational goals, and progress reporting is beneficial.
