Staff Hardware Reliability Engineer

At ServiceNow, we're revolutionizing the way organizations work. As a Staff Hardware Reliability Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our Enterprise Cloud.
We're looking for a skilled engineer to join our Hardware Reliability team. In this role, you'll be responsible for building hardware-specific tools that scale systems through automation and evolve our infrastructure to improve reliability and performance.
You'll work closely with our external hardware partners to develop creative solutions that enable us to achieve our high level of reliability. Excellent communication skills and an appreciation for feedback are critical for success in this role.
In addition to automation development, you'll be responsible for helping build our internal knowledge base by creating and maintaining documentation regarding all things hardware.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- 6+ years of relevant work experience or 4+ years of experience with a Master's Degree in Engineering
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration or networking
- 3-5+ years of experience with enterprise-class server systems, including remote access management devices and firmware management
- 3-5+ years of experience with shell scripting and Python, including programming against RESTful APIs
- Bachelor's or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or Computer Science (CS) or related field
- Ability to extrapolate patterns from datasets and build reports that illustrate trends
- Excellent communication, conflict management, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Experience using the ServiceNow platform or ITIL Process and Change Management
- Experience working in or with operations teams to help develop cross-team solutions
- Proficiency using version control systems such as Git, SVN, etc
