Electrical Hardware Engineer

We're pushing the boundaries of innovation at Shift Robotics, and we're looking for a talented Electrical Hardware Engineer to join our team.
As an Electrical Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and testing reliable and innovative hardware for our robotic shoes. Your expertise in PCB design, motor control, and system integration will be crucial in bringing our products to life.
You will work closely with our firmware team to participate in architecture and code review, and collaborate with our mechanical engineering team to design a tightly integrated electro-mechanical system.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and optimizing PCBs for motor control and minimal EMC
- Developing firmware scripts and example codes to validate hardware solutions
- Collaborating with the mechanical engineering team to design a tightly integrated electro-mechanical system
- Traveling to our overseas manufacturer to bring the prototype into production
Requirements include:
- Solid experience in PCB design and optimizing component placements and routing for motor control and minimal EMC
- Experience in three-phase BLDC motor control (FOC) is preferred
- System integration experience of embedded systems with electronics, firmware, and software
- Proficient with standard EE tools (scopes, digital analyzers, etc.)
- Proficient in Altium Design
- Experience in JTAG/SWO
- Basic level of low-level programming (register access and configuration) for hardware V&V
