Job Summary

The Academic Affairs Budget Analyst position is a critical role within the Division, responsible for performing a wide variety of complex administrative and technical duties in the day-to-day operations of the Division. This includes financial, operational, policy, and program research, reporting, evaluation, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, process, and review documents, including budget, revenue, and expense transfers, requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Prepare complex financial reports and reconciliations, such as periodic fund balance reports, position lists, payroll reconciliations, and ad-hoc reports.
  • Conduct data analysis utilizing multiple campus databases to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor expenses for the Office of the Provost and other non-academic departments within Academic Affairs to ensure expenditures are within budget limits.
  • Audit business processes and recommend changes to increase efficiencies and effectiveness.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods, typically obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience. The candidate should also have at least two years of administrative experience in a complex organization, with highly organized and excellent ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

College degree and higher education experience are desirable, as well as conversance in the terminology of finance and accounting and knowledge of budget and accounting concepts, practices, and processes.
