Position Overview:


Are you seeking a new opportunity where you can step into a newly established role and create your own impact? Do you possess experience in partnership accounting and wish to focus on this specialty? If so, our newly formed Senior Tax Analyst position may be the ideal fit for you.

This role is tailored for an accountant with defined expertise in partner compensation, draws, and partnership distribution calculations. Become a key player at Benesch and contribute significantly to our financial success.


The Senior Tax Analyst will support the Director of Finance in managing the general ledger, preparing financial reports, overseeing cash flow across the firm, reconciling bank accounts for all locations, and assisting with various special projects as required.

As a vital member of our team, you will help us deliver exceptional service to our clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage partner compensation, draws, and partnership distribution calculations.
  • Assist with partner withdrawals and retirement calculations.
  • Support partner capital projections and analyses.
  • Prepare quarterly tax estimates and payments.
  • Coordinate tax workpaper preparation with external tax professionals.
  • Compile annual income and capital workpapers for tax filings.
  • Ensure adherence to firm policies and internal accounting controls.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare audit schedules for annual review by external auditors.
  • Reconcile partners' draw and capital accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries as necessary.
  • Work towards standardizing and enhancing financial processes.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

The Senior Tax Analyst must possess an accounting degree from an accredited institution. A minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience is required, with two years in public accounting preferred. Experience in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and conducting financial analysis is essential. Familiarity with partnership accounting is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is required. Strong customer service skills, the ability to work independently, and being part of a collaborative team are essential attributes.
