About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at Frisch's. As a key member of our management team, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our restaurant and ensuring that our customers receive an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Restaurant Operations
    • Assist the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including managing staff, inventory, and customer service.
    • Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
    • Ensure that all restaurant policies and procedures are followed, including those related to health and safety, customer service, and employee relations.
  • Staff Management
    • Assist the General Manager in recruiting, training, and developing staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent customer service.
    • Mentor and coach staff to improve their performance and achieve their full potential.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to staff.
  • Training and Development
    • Develop and implement training programs to ensure that staff have the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent customer service.
    • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff to help them improve their performance and achieve their full potential.
    • Identify and develop staff to take on leadership roles within the restaurant.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure that all customers receive an exceptional dining experience, including prompt and friendly service, high-quality food, and a clean and welcoming environment.
    • Monitor and address any customer complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Associate's degree and 6 months of operations management experience in the restaurant industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • One year of Frisch's experience preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • ServSafe certified.
    • Ability to speak English.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
    • Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, coach, delegate, and supervise.
    • Ability to read, write, and follow recipes accurately, as well as having strong math and organizational skills.
    • Must have access to reliable transportation.
    • Ability to prioritize, handle stress, and deal with irate customers in a calm professional manner.
  • Physical Demands
    • Environment includes heavy customer contact, working with cooking equipment, and slippery walking surfaces.
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
    • Good agility necessary to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Bending, reaching, and climbing.
    • Good hearing, visual, and speaking skills.
    • Must be able to walk in and out of refrigerated areas.
    • Must be able to work around steam, hot, and cold foods and ice.
