At Select Medical's Critical Illness Recovery Hospitals, you will care for the most vulnerable patients in your community. We provide care for chronically and critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital services. Our workforce consists of over 50,000 dedicated professionals across the nation, delivering quality care to approximately 70,000 patients daily across our four divisions.

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will collaborate with highly skilled clinicians and some of the finest critical care nurses in the field. Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will perform routine tasks related to patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of care provided.

  • Assisting patients with bathing using basinless bath products, oral hygiene, and hair care.
  • Responding to patient calls and providing timely assistance that contributes to their physical well-being.
  • Engaging in hourly patient rounds.
  • Transporting patients to and from various treatment areas as needed; assisting transport staff in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.

Qualifications

You will demonstrate a strong understanding of patient needs, ensuring that each individual feels informed, understood, and valued. You are passionate about delivering superior quality care and possess the ability to solve problems creatively in a dynamic environment.

Minimum requirements include:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting as a patient care technician, nursing assistant, or in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student.
