Position Overview
The audiologist at Granville Health System will perform thorough audiological assessments for both adult and pediatric populations.
This role involves advocating for patients' hearing health needs within the healthcare framework, providing essential support and resources while upholding professionalism and nurturing positive interactions with patients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct detailed audiological assessments, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, immittance testing (tympanometry and acoustic reflex testing), and otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing.
2. Address tinnitus-related concerns, offering counseling and management strategies, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals as necessary.
3. Perform pediatric hearing assessments utilizing conditioned play audiometry (CPA).
4. Collaborate closely with otolaryngologists and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
Hearing Aid Management
Evaluate patients' candidacy for hearing aids, select suitable hearing aid technology tailored to individual needs and preferences, and deliver fittings and follow-up care.
Quality Assurance
Adhere to clinical protocols, quality assurance measures, and regulatory standards to maintain the highest levels of patient care and safety.
Patient Advocacy
Champion patients' hearing health needs within the healthcare system, providing guidance and resources to assist them in navigating their hearing healthcare journey.
Professionalism
Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions and foster positive relationships with center personnel and medical staff.
Qualifications
Requires an AuD or Master's degree in Audiology with an active certification. Proficient in typing and computer skills; skilled in operating audiology equipment. Excellent communication, written, and organizational abilities are essential. Must be capable of multitasking efficiently and prioritizing effectively. Demonstrates sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
