At Select Medical's Critical Illness Recovery Hospitals, you will be caring for the most vulnerable patients in your community. We specialize in the care of chronically and critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital care. Our organization employs over 50,000 individuals nationwide and provides quality care to approximately 70,000 patients daily across our four divisions.

Responsibilities

We seek dedicated individuals who will embody the Select Medical Way, which emphasizes prioritizing patient care, enhancing the quality of life in the community, pursuing continuous improvement, delivering high-quality care, and acting with integrity.

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will collaborate with highly skilled clinicians and some of the finest critical care nurses in the field. Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will perform routine tasks related to patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of services rendered.

  • Providing personal care services for patients, including bathing with basinless products, oral hygiene, and hair care.
  • Responding to patient calls and delivering services promptly to enhance patient well-being.
  • Engaging in hourly patient rounds.
  • Assisting in the transportation of patients to and from various treatment areas as needed; aiding transport staff in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.

Qualifications

You will demonstrate a keen understanding of patient needs, ensuring that each individual feels informed, understood, and valued. You are passionate about delivering exceptional quality care and possess innovative problem-solving skills that thrive in a dynamic environment.

Minimum requirements include:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Previous hospital experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant, or in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student.
