Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is recognized as a leading research institution, serving approximately 33,650 students across undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. The Department of Computer Science boasts around 1200 undergraduate majors and 190 graduate students, reflecting a significant increase in diversity among our student body. Our faculty, comprising 21 tenure-track members, engage in cutting-edge research across various domains, including artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, while also promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. The department is supported by 7 non-tenure track faculty and 14 staff members dedicated to our educational and research missions.

Position Summary

The Department of Computer Science is seeking an educator to deliver instruction for undergraduate computer science courses at the 100, 200, and 300 levels throughout the academic year. The typical workload includes teaching three established courses each semester. The educator will have the flexibility to tailor course materials to align with their teaching approach while maintaining core content integrity. The educator will be responsible for lecturing, holding office hours, administering assessments, creating assignments, and developing grading criteria, potentially with the assistance of undergraduate teaching assistants.

This is a non-tenure track position with an annual contract, subject to renewal based on performance and anticipated course demand.

Applicants must possess a Master's degree in computer science or a closely related field by the start of the appointment.

Qualifications

Required
  • Master's degree in computer science or a closely related discipline (e.g., Data Science, Data Analytics).
Preferred
  • Experience teaching large groups in various computer science courses.
  • Experience engaging with diverse student populations.
  • Ph.D. in computer science or relevant industry experience.
