About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Director of Philanthropy to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors with the capacity to give at the level of $25,000-$99,000.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of individual prospects with the capacity and inclination to make gifts of $25,000-$99,999 to support the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
  • Consistently meet individual discovery, contact, and fundraising goals, including monthly meetings and participation in annual solicitations.
  • Focus on creating a new portfolio of donors by managing and moving efficiently through the discovery and qualification process.
  • Assist the college's advancement team in developing and implementing strategies for cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition.
  • Develop strategic relationships among faculty, alumni, friends, and campus colleagues to result in effective partnerships and increased philanthropic funding.
  • Represent the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at college and university-wide donor events.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with three or more years of progressive responsibility and experience in institutional advancement or a related field.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team in a large, complex research university.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and self-starting.
  • Good listener.
  • Perseverance and a positive attitude.
