Job Title: Plant Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to join our team at Newport Sand & Gravel Co., Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of our plant and equipment, as well as the supervision of our employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Batch and load concrete to meet production demands and customer needs.
  • Manage labor hours and ensure that all employees are following company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor job performance and productivity, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and that daily pre-shift inspections are completed.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the plant and yard, including inspections and maintenance as per the Plant Maintenance Schedule.
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL Class B Driver's License and a driving record within the tolerable insurability limits.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver a minimum of 50 pounds as required throughout the workday.
  • Ability to inspect all areas of mixers and plant, and to climb ladders to check inventories and perform plant maintenance.
  • Ability to work long and flexible hours as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all employees are using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are working safely.
  • Accident investigation and reports as necessary.
  • Perform safety huddles with staff weekly or more frequently if necessary.
Inventory:
  • Maintain inventory to meet production demands and customer needs.
  • Timely and accurate month-end inventory reports and other month-end paperwork as assigned.
