Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and analyze hardware and software problems on university computer systems, and perform complex hardware repairs and maintenance.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to customers, troubleshooting and resolving system hardware, software, and communications failures and conflicts.
  • Evaluate existing computer systems hardware, customize and test computer systems, and resolve configuration conflicts and errors.
  • Install, integrate, and configure new computer systems and hardware for users.
  • Research and recommend appropriate computer hardware for customized computer configurations.
  • Review, prioritize, and process problem reports, documenting the progress of projects.
  • Maintain a high-level quality of customer service standards in dealing with and responding to questions.
Requirements
  • Ability to perform intermediate repairs and upgrades on a wide variety of computers and peripherals.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, and communications.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Ability to simultaneously coordinate and complete multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of advanced computer troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to diagnose the nature and extent of a wide range of computer problems.
  • Ability to install and configure systems, hardware, and peripherals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous customer service skills in a technical capacity.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair of computer hardware.
  • Investigating and resolving problems and/or repairing as specified by work orders.
  • Installing, integrating, and configuring new systems and hardware for users.
  • Knowledge of the Windows 10 and 11 operating system as well as the Mac OS.
