Position Title: Medical Billing Specialist

Company: LHH Recruitment Solutions

Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on follow-up and collections, as well as obtaining necessary information for efficient claims processing.

Location: This position is based in Phoenix, AZ and requires full-time onsite presence.



Compensation: Competitive hourly rate of $21-24, with potential for a sign-on bonus.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6am-4pm, with flexibility in hours.

Job Type: Direct Hire



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign codes to medical procedures and diagnoses for billing and reimbursement in the healthcare sector.
  • Collect and verify patient information, including demographics, insurance details, and medical history.
  • Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and government entities for payment processing.
  • Pursue outstanding claims and resolve denials, ensuring timely resubmission when necessary.
  • Communicate with patients to address inquiries and concerns regarding their bills and payment options.
  • Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and billing practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and patient information.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations related to billing and privacy.
  • Demonstrate expertise in insurance collections, including negotiating payment plans and managing correspondence.
  • Handle patient calls to support collection efforts, including eligibility assessments for charity programs and payment arrangements.
  • Conduct thorough account reviews, tracing missing information and updating insurance and demographic details as needed.
  • Possess a solid understanding of HCPCS, CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes, as well as medical terminology.
  • Educate staff on billing requirements for various payers.
  • Understand insurance regulations to effectively communicate with payers regarding claims and payments.
  • Adhere to the Company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) policies.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Undergraduate degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing and collections is required.
  • Basic proficiency in Excel is necessary.
