Title: Senior Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Location: Chicago

Schedule: On-Site, Monday to Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Operations:

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary living environment.
  • Oversee the maintenance of mechanical systems at various facilities.
  • Coordinate and execute scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare necessary reports, including:
    • Occupancy reports
    • Maintenance request logs
    • Inventory of maintenance supplies
  • Conduct regular inspections of participant units and facilities.
  • Prepare vacant units for new occupants, including cleaning and minor repairs.
  • Assist in scheduling and monitoring external contractor repairs.

Training and Compliance:

  • Participate in required meetings and training programs.
  • Complete 30 hours of maintenance training annually.

Additional Duties:

  • Report hazardous conditions and identify maintenance needs.
  • Respond to emergencies with appropriate solutions.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance with vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with city codes for all equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with two years of technical training and three years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma with five years of relevant experience.
  • A criminal background check is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, and crawl.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to provide physical restraint when necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Problem-solving skills in various situations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise levels.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and work locations may be required.
