Strategic Finance Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate of Strategic Finance to join our team at Toast Inc. As a key member of our Strategic Finance team, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the company, providing data-driven insights and thought partnership to inform strategic, financial, and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with G&A leaders to drive initiatives including business planning, corporate strategy, and strategic projects.
  • Prepare management reporting and analysis for business partners, including monthly/quarterly financial results and forecast, annual planning budget cycle, headcount and operating metric summaries, and long-range planning projections.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting for Finance, Legal & Compliance, and Executive orgs, as well as owning G&A-wide strategic projects including G&A efficiency planning, benchmarking, and shared services strategy.
  • Influence decisions by understanding the big picture combined with providing underlying financial analysis.
  • Analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and plan, using insights to iterate on forecasts and build/discuss potential action plans with cross-functional partners.
  • Assist in any ad-hoc analyses and deep dives into strategic issues to improve the collective understanding of risks and opportunities related to the business.
  • Build sophisticated financial models and synthesize outputs into concise presentations to drive executive decision-making processes.
  • Continuously look at opportunities to optimize processes and models to provide more timely and relevant insights across our Corporate and G&A landscape.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 4+ years of strategic finance, operational finance, or FP&A experience at a high-growth tech company.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude, high attention to details, collaborative, and comfort in working in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and evolving environment.
  • Effective project management skills; highly organized, independent, and self-motivated.

Special Sauce (Nonessential Skills/Nice to Haves)

  • Working knowledge of Adaptive, Netsuite, and Zip.

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.

Pay Range $102,000-$163,000 USD
