About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Associate to join our Portfolio Finance team at Barings. As a key contributor to our team, you will be responsible for leveraging technology-based solutions to streamline efficiencies, enable insightful program-level reporting, and support the reduction of investment and operational risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in pre-close analysis to effectively identify and problem solve for unique investment structure impacts on modeling and compliance set-up.
  • Develop complex, reusable, and efficient deal-level credit models which include borrowing base computations, asset eligibility and concentration testing, and cash flow waterfall mechanics across a variety of asset classes.
  • Critically evaluate information provided from multiple sources - both internal and external - and reconcile discrepancies to ensure sound data quality.
  • Produce (and automate where possible) regularly scheduled and ad-hoc management reports to enable decision making.
  • Support internal controls activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in fund finance, structured finance, investment banking, private equity, private credit, hedge funds, or management consulting.
  • Prior experience in investments within private credit preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn key financial concepts and experience with developing financial models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, well-organized, self-starter, and able to multitask and deliver work products on short timeframes.
  • Ability and openness to understanding operational, accounting, and legal aspects of investments.
