Job Summary

The Providence Public School District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Professional Development, Evaluation, and Leadership to join our team. This is a critical role that will oversee the management of professional development, evaluation, and leadership initiatives across the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of professional development programs for educators and leaders, including training and resources for new teachers and leaders.
  • Manage the evaluation systems, including data analysis and compliance with state law.
  • Develop and implement evaluation tools and resources, including templates and form letters.
  • Provide training and support for leaders on supervision and evaluation, including conducting investigations and holding grievance/disciplinary hearings.
  • Develop and implement leadership development programs, including training and resources for school leaders.
  • Provide ongoing support for leadership development, supervision, and evaluation.
Requirements
  • Masters degree required.
  • Experience in large, urban districts preferred.
  • Experience as a school leader and evaluator preferred.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables.
  • Sound planning and resource management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Self-starter who requires a minimum level of supervisory oversight.
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrated commitment to urban K-12 education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the Rhode Island Innovation Evaluation and Support System.
  • Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
