Financial Reporting Specialist

This role oversees financial reporting, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of reports in accordance with GAAP. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, focused on accuracy and process improvement, with experience in construction accounting and percentage of completion methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle monthly close, including all balance sheet reconciliations (AR, AP, accruals, PPE, prepaids, intercompany, and payroll).
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and reconcile PPE monthly.
  • Manage and post month-end, recurring, and adjusting journal entries, ensuring all general ledger adjustments are accurate.
  • Reconcile and troubleshoot bank accounts daily.
  • Review SG&A accounts for unusual activity and report findings.
  • Identify and address variances in financial statements with internal teams.
  • Coordinate with external tax preparers on state and federal tax payments and reporting.
  • Support audits, prepare financial statements with commentary, and collaborate on month/quarter/year-end close.
  • Lead special projects and ERP troubleshooting as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience.
  • Multi-location/multi-site accounting experience.
  • Public accounting experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Sage 100 or Sage 300 software experience is preferred, but not required.
