About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Event Sales Manager to join our team at Long Meadow Ranch St Helena Farmstead. As an Event Sales Manager, you will be responsible for creating memorable group experiences for our clients in our unique indoor and outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate details and menus for clients' functions and maintain budgeted reviews through solicitation of business while controlling expenditures.
  • Implement and maintain a management philosophy that serves as a guide for the team.
  • Responsible for generating a definitive sales and marketing plan to achieve revenue goals.
  • Manage all aspects of private event sales, from fielding inquiries, site visits, and client meetings, developing proposals, and negotiating contracts.
  • Prospect for new business opportunities in the corporate, association, and wedding market segments.
  • Establish a client base of organizations, associations, social, and corporate businesses through direct outside and inside sales efforts to secure business and meet or exceed predetermined sales expectations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to produce additional business.
  • Follow company processes for event finances, including pricing, sales goals, costing, client deposits, and payments.
  • Define monthly and quarterly event sales goals; communicate and evaluate progress against these goals with the Director of Destination Operations.
  • Accurately forecast individual booking revenues and cancellations; accurately track consumption on all bookings.
  • Assist the client in menu planning; coordinate food, beverage, meeting room setup, decorations, and other services requested by the client; assure that all requirements are communicated and completed to the client's specifications.
  • Participate in weekly banquet event order meetings and communicate details to the team.
  • Communicate with the events execution team to provide event information and changes.
  • Create and sustain productive relationships and negotiate contracts with event-related clients, vendors, companies, and supporters.
  • Adhere to established guidelines and policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or Hotel Management or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in hospitality and event management in the lifestyle, restaurant, resort, hotel, travel, or winery industry.
  • Detail-oriented work habits and strong organization skills required.
  • Excellent personal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of computers, including Google Apps, Microsoft Office, and Reserve Interactive (or comparable event proposal program).
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adhere to company standards for response times and deadlines.
