Overview:

The role involves working collaboratively to ensure the efficient operation of the unit while delivering therapeutic interventions that align with best practice standards, care plans, and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the implementation of individual care plans.
  • Execute all responsibilities associated with the nursing assistant role.
  • Deliver direct patient care, focusing on behavioral symptom management and assisting patients in coping with various stressors.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop and update care plans and discharge strategies.
  • Encourage patient participation in activities and document their involvement.
  • Provide hands-on support and coaching to assist patients with daily living activities and address their concerns.
  • Ensure patient care is delivered in a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment.
  • Support team members in addressing patient needs.
  • Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a healthcare setting is required.

Licenses:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire.
  • Certified Nurse Aide certification is preferred upon hire.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to analyze situations, organize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Capability to observe patient behavior and document findings accurately.
  • Teaching and training skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic activities is preferred.
