Position Overview:
We seek a qualified individual to lead and develop our practice in the energy and environmental sector. The successful candidate will be based in one of our New York offices.
The ideal applicant will have the capacity to manage existing cases (a full book of business is not necessary) and will excel in mentoring junior associates, serving as a role model for future legal professionals.
Key Qualifications:
- Must be licensed to practice law in New York State and authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience in federal and state regulations, SEQRA, permitting, environmental remediation, and enforcement is essential.
- Preferred experience in advising clients on energy-related issues, particularly in relation to the New York State Public Service Commission and the Office of Renewable Energy Siting.
- Familiarity with renewable energy projects, including negotiating power purchase agreements, is advantageous.
- Land use and zoning expertise is a plus.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, driven professional with a strong academic background, who thrives in a team-oriented setting, takes initiative, and possesses excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
The estimated salary range for this position at the Senior Counsel or Member level is between $150,000 and $350,000, with actual compensation determined by various factors, including experience, qualifications, and skill set.
