Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Associate to join our Systems Immunology research team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immunology and experience in developing and performing immunological assays.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our team of computational biologists, immunologists, proteomics scientists, and structural biologists to identify, design, and validate targets for infectious disease vaccines. This role offers the opportunity to develop and deploy a wide array of immunoassays to directly contribute to both pre-clinical design and functional evaluation of vaccines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and performing immunological assays, including ELISAs, ELISpots, flow cytometry, fluorescence activated cell sorting, and antibody effector function measures.
  • Conducting fundamental virological assays, especially propagation and titration of BSL-2 viruses.
  • Collaborating and communicating experimental progress with both internal research teams and external groups to advance team projects.
  • Maintaining a high standard of record keeping and experimentation, including assay and instrument troubleshooting.
  • Working productively in a team environment and independently to deliver against timelines.

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Immunology or related field with in-depth knowledge of immunology and immune-related assays.
  • Minimum of 3 plus years of relevant research experience in academic or industry setting.
  • Experience in working with viruses and antibodies is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated experience in ELISAs, ELISpots, multi-color flow cytometry and fluorescence activated cell sorting is highly desired.
  • Experience in biochemistry, especially protein purification, would be an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
