Position Overview:

The Benefits Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the Employee Services Team by leveraging Workday, case management, knowledge base, and contact center technologies. This position focuses on various functional areas, including Benefit Administration, Help Desk, and Workforce Administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver professional and prompt service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage benefit-related modifications such as life-status changes and address updates.
  • Address and resolve benefit administration inquiries with internal personnel and external vendors.
  • Guide employees on benefit programs, covering plan features, eligibility, and premium details.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of carrier invoices and report findings to stakeholders.
  • Respond accurately and promptly to incoming inquiries regarding Workday access, benefits, and general HR matters.
  • Utilize the knowledge base effectively to research and provide timely responses.
  • Escalate issues to the Account Manager or Pod Manager when necessary resources are insufficient.
  • Provide timely and professional service for internal audit requests.
  • Communicate effectively through various channels including phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Participate in work intake reviews to enhance automation of audit activities and reporting.
  • Communicate any audit-related issues to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Identify and document opportunities for improvement or innovation through process enhancements or automation.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in HRIS, benefits administration, ERISA, HSA, and FSA.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and adhere to schedules, with flexibility for additional hours as needed.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Experience with Workday or Salesforce is advantageous.
  • Availability to work weekends, particularly during peak periods.
