Support Staff for Individual Success Program

Job Summary:
The Special Education Para Professional will assist teachers with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students in the Individual Success Program (ISP) at Lincoln Public Schools.
Students placed within the ISP require intensive behavioral, mental health, and life skills support as a result of a verified disability such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, or other impairment.
The ideal candidate will be trained in behavioral techniques and instructional strategies, including Handle with Care, and will work under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher and building administrators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual instruction and support to students with behavioral and cognitive needs
- Assist with small group activities and room supervision
- Support students in developing positive relationships, effective communication, and cultural proficiency
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to implement IEPs and provide data-driven instruction
Requirements:
- Caring and patient demeanor
- Ability to work with students with behavioral and cognitive needs
- Willingness to be trained in behavioral techniques and instructional strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Working Hours:
7:45 AM to 2:30 PM
