Academic Success Coach

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered Academic Success Coach to join our team. As a key member of the Center for Academic Success and Transition (CAST), you will play a vital role in supporting the academic success and student engagement of all UNL students.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one success coaching to students, both in-person and via Zoom, to support their academic goals and success.
- Manage a caseload of students, including First Husker, Emerging Leader Scholarship recipients, first-year program participants, and other student groups.
- Develop and deliver academic skills and engagement presentations and workshops to support student success.
- Teach at least two first-year seminar courses per semester.
- Assist the Director in planning and coordinating interactive and dynamic academic support programs for first-year and other student cohorts.
- Bachelor's degree plus two years' related experience.
- Experience working with students at secondary or post-secondary level in an advising, counseling, transitions, or retention-related role.
- Experience providing academic programs to support student success, including teaching, tutoring, peer mentoring, study groups, counseling, case management, etc.
- Expertise in strategies and best practices for supporting students' academic success.
- Proficiency with word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation, and student management/course management systems.
- Ability to effectively problem solve, think critically, and communicate effectively with college students and staff in situations of shared responsibility and confidentiality.
- Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to supervise, mentor, and evaluate graduate and undergraduate student staff.
- Ability to teach minimum 2 first-year seminar courses per semester.
- Master's degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or related liberal arts field.
