Job Overview

Axle, a leading bioscience and information technology company, is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) in conducting cutting-edge research in neuroimmunology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of laboratory techniques and procedures, including handling infectious agents, performing immune cell isolations, immunohistochemistry, tissue sectioning, fluorescence, and brightfield microscopy.
  • Maintain laboratory cell lines and transgenic mouse colonies.
  • Work with staff to implement storage and distribution of biological samples for future scientific research.
  • Analyze, document, and report on all procedures performed, and produce detailed reports for use by senior staff.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data, and prepare summaries and reports based on results and findings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in managing mice colonies.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures, including handling infectious agents and performing immune cell isolations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
