Genomics Research Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join our team at the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine. As a Research Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our scientific programs and advancing military medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional support to users of the genomics facility, including expertise in genomics, genetic analysis, and gene expression.
- Operate and maintain genomics facility instrumentation, ensuring reliable results and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collect and dispose of biohazardous and chemical waste products, and coordinate with EHS for safe removal.
- Schedule instrument usage and bill for products, services, and training, while maintaining laboratory supply inventories and monitoring expenditures.
- Assist users with experimental protocol development, data preparation, and result analysis, while maintaining records of experimental data and results.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as molecular genetics, genomics, or biochemistry.
- Technical skills in laboratory techniques, including molecular genetics, genomics, and biochemistry.
- Experience in research data acquisition and analysis, as well as operation of sophisticated laboratory instrumentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to resolve research and user problems.
- Knowledge of scheduling, billing, purchasing, and budgeting, with ability to schedule user requirements to maximize productivity.
