Culinary Specialist

Compensation: $16 per hour (plus tips)


Position Summary:

Culinary specialists are tasked with ensuring our patrons enjoy a remarkable dining experience by preparing high-quality dishes and adhering to established recipes and presentation standards. Our ideal candidates possess a strong passion for food, utilize fresh, quality ingredients, and are committed to crafting memorable meals. Culinary specialists will employ various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare all menu items according to approved recipes and portion guidelines.
  • Execute daily prep lists effectively.
  • Set up cooking stations and prepare all food items promptly.
  • Restock, clean, and maintain cooking station items as necessary throughout the shift, while demonstrating outstanding safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
  • Assist in the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas, following proper food storage protocols.
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Implement policies and procedures to minimize food waste.
  • Collaborate with the service team to guarantee accurate food orders.
  • Be responsible for opening or closing a workstation based on the scheduled shift, including but not limited to: deep fryers, flat tops, cold tables, steam tables, and dish stations.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures and all preventative maintenance, safety, and sanitation measures are consistently met.
  • Adapt to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasks.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Availability to work part-time or full-time, including mornings, evenings, and weekends, with Saturdays required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Demonstrate strong knife skills and proficiency in a variety of cooking methods.
  • Basic kitchen knowledge regarding weights, measurements, volumes, and portioning.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional cleanliness and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with individuals and groups at all levels.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and continuously bend, reach, and twist.
  • Food Handlers Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of operation, sanitation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
