Job Summary

As a Senior Sous Chef at Compass Group USA, you will play a crucial role in the successful operation of our culinary department. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Executive Chef in managing cost controls, planning and creating menus, and executing catering events. You will also be responsible for rolling out new culinary programs and working with the culinary team to develop new menus and assist with ordering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Produce and execute catering events that exceed customer expectations.
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with the Company's marketing and culinary teams.
Requirements:
  • A.O.S. Degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate and required experience.
  • Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training.
  • Catering experience a plus.
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable.
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet.
  • Must be willing to participate in patient satisfaction programs/activities.
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable.
