Packaging Equipment Operator

As a Packaging Equipment Operator at The Estee Lauder Companies Inc., you will be responsible for ensuring assigned packaging resources are changed over and operating at the production standard while meeting all safety and quality expectations. This includes operating and supporting the changing over of different types of packaging equipment efficiently and effectively, ensuring all quality and safety processes are being maintained.
Accountabilities:
Environmental Health and Safety goals are a top priority at all times. Your key goals will include eliminating accidents, mentoring line personnel to support this goal, and ensuring our environmental goals are being met. You will also be responsible for complying with all prescribed Safety and GMP procedures, proactively identifying and resolving safety and ergonomic concerns for your line, and advising crew members to utilize proper ergonomic-related equipment. Additionally, you will address or report any necessary safety-related issues or concerns, advise crew members to follow all policies and procedures, and maintain a clean and orderly work center following 5S and adhering to all Regulatory Guidelines.
Key Goals:
Another key goal is to produce products that meet all quality expectations and eliminate rejections. You will follow cGMP and corporate quality SOPs at all times, perform all required quality checks as described in our plant SOPs, understand PPM and defect prevention practices, prepare mass according to fill specs and transferring to line, and ensure accuracy of components, both quantity and quality to start job.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include operating packaging equipment during production runs, performing basic mechanical troubleshooting, performing operator tasks in your work center, including in-process quality checks, manual filling, and packaging, loading machinery with components, assisting the mechanic in basic set-ups/changeovers for packaging and process equipment, communicating closely with the Mechanic, Process Coordinator, and Supervisor to ensure the resource is running effectively, disassembling and cleaning equipment in accordance with line clearance, cleaning, and sanitization procedures, assisting in performing equipment cleaning and inspection, performing line clearance of components and mass, initiating basic trouble shooting, assessing and addressing failure modes of equipment, communicating component shortages to the Supervisors, Process Coordinators, and Mechanics, providing and communicating cross-over information during shift change to the next shift, and monitoring attainment board for efficiency goals on each job assigned. You will also complete production paperwork as required by your position.
Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include 6 months of packaging operator experience, a safety-oriented mindset, the ability to perform a variety of tasks including breaking down and reassembling production equipment and technical operation of packaging equipment, basic mechanical/technical skills, the ability to read, write, and communicate in English, strong communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, strong math skills, demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and a good attendance record.
