Job Overview

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Director to lead our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall direction and daily operational activities of the department, including planning, budgeting, personnel management, quality improvement, and collaboration with physicians and administration to ensure high-quality, patient-centered services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective fiscal management strategies to ensure the department's financial stability and growth.
  • Collaborate with quality and risk management staff to develop and implement quality indicators, such as quality checklists, chart audits, and patient/employee surveys.
  • Act as a leadership resource for physicians, nurse managers, faculty, staff, patients/families, executive, other departments, and employees.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, department leaders, ancillary staff, other departments/units, and vendors to ensure positive working relationships.
  • Oversee the condition and safety of the department facilities, including cleanliness, equipment, and environmental safety.

Requirements:

  • MSN or DNP Degree from an accredited Professional School of Nursing.
  • Eight (8) years of current NICU registered nurse experience.
  • Three (3) years of Level III NICU Director experience.
  • Experience gained within a teaching hospital is highly preferred.
