Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
  • Investigate, identify, and deploy robotics technologies for implementation on the production floor.
  • Oversee the initiation and programming of all robotics utilized within the organization.
  • Develop and document training and technical procedures for robotics across the company.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for robotic systems.
  • Design new control systems and modify existing ones as necessary.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for process enhancement and manage improvements from conception to execution.
  • Diagnose equipment issues; determine the need for new machinery or modifications to existing equipment to maximize performance and reliability.
  • Work alongside mechanical and electrical teams to resolve issues related to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Devise and implement solutions for plant safety and equipment projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of all plant equipment and modifications, updating files and AutoCAD drawings as needed.
  • Research emerging technologies and explore their potential integration into plant operations.
  • Engage with plant personnel to incorporate user insights into design considerations.
  • Promote and uphold safe work practices in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Manage special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering or maintenance roles.
  • Experience in the heavy industrial sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient in programming and troubleshooting PLCs and robotics systems.

Specific Skills:
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Fanuc systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of ladder logic.
  • Knowledge of AC overhead cranes, DC motors, and control systems.
  • Comprehensive electrical knowledge.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the tubing and/or steel industries is advantageous.
