Position Overview:
Our client, a prominent entity in the healthcare sector, is seeking a skilled Controller to enhance their financial team. This role has been established to support a new operational site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily accounting functions, ensuring accurate general ledger (GL) management and accounts payable (AP) processes, including the preparation and posting of GL entries.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, which involve journal entry preparation, GL account reconciliations, variance analysis, and GL reviews.
  • Possess knowledge of insurance revenue and payroll as primary costs of goods sold (COGS).
  • Experience with Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from health insurance, detailing covered medical expenses.
  • Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and monthly reviews.
  • Handle travel and expense reporting.
  • Conduct monthly assessments and provide support for tax remittance preparation to relevant jurisdictions.
  • Lead the implementation of Netsuite, including system testing and integration for accounting functions.
  • Perform routine tasks such as maintaining GL sub-ledgers for fixed assets and prepaid expenses, overseeing the corporate check register, and conducting tax balancing.
  • Act as a liaison for annual audits and tax submissions.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll postings, addressing any discrepancies as needed.
  • Support both internal and external reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years in accounting management roles.
  • CPA designation is highly preferred.
  • Experience with health insurance, contracts, and EOB is essential.
  • Familiarity with Netsuite ERP is required.
  • Proficient in Excel.
