Job Title: Professor in Computational Geosciences

We are seeking an exceptional scholar to join our faculty as a Professor in Computational Geosciences. The successful candidate will be appointed jointly between the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences and the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering & Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct cutting-edge research in computational geosciences, developing and advancing innovative approaches to solve complex problems.
  • Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences and the Oden Institute's graduate program in Computational Science, Engineering and Mathematics.
  • Establish a vibrant, externally funded research program that aligns with the department's and institute's research priorities.
Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in a relevant field at the time of appointment.
  • Strong research and teaching background in computational geosciences or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
