MEMS Research Assistant Professor Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant Professor to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. The successful candidate will play a key role in the Advanced Energy Consortium's cross-functional team, guiding the integration of MEMS technology into groundbreaking applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, fabrication, integration, and testing of acoustic, optical, and RF MEMS
  • Lead future developments in AEC's novel miniaturized sensors for subsurface and environmental applications
  • Integrate partners' components to build and test physical and chemical variations of these sensors
  • Manage projects across AEC-partnered universities
  • Develop proposals in response to new grant opportunities and manage awarded grants
Requirements:
  • Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in electrical or mechanical engineering, geophysics, or related field
  • Deep understanding of MEMS technology and its diverse applications
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience working across disciplines
  • Strategic mindset adept at identifying and seizing research and market opportunities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years post-Ph.D. degree experience in an active research/industry collaboration environment
  • Experience in geoscience applications and challenges
  • Experience managing partner and stakeholder relationships
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in environmental industries
