Environmental Internship Opportunity

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Intern to join our team in our Denver, CO or Minneapolis, MN office. As an Environmental Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects related to noise control and acoustics, including data interpretation, desktop noise modeling, and field measurements.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with data interpretation and analysis using spreadsheet software.
  • Collaborate on desktop noise modeling efforts to support renewables, energy, transportation, and land development projects.
  • Assist with field measurements, equipment maintenance, and associated documentation.
  • Prepare reports and memos to deliver analysis results and communicate technical concepts.
  • Research and interpret local noise ordinances and general planning/zoning policies to identify applicable noise regulations.
Requirements:
  • Strong capabilities in data manipulation and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic understanding of acoustic concepts, including noise level metrics and common environmental noise sources.
Preferred Experience:
  • Pursuing or possessing a degree in acoustics, physics, environmental planning, mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems, mechanical (HVAC) equipment, or environmental policy.
  • Experience using noise modeling software and sound level meters.
Compensation:

Minimum: $20.00/Hr.

Maximum: $23.00/Hr.
