Macy's is seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems in our stores.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform emergency repairs on electrical switchgear, motors, emergency generators, relay systems, and related equipment.
- Prepare and maintain computer equipment records for all electrical switchgear, motors, emergency generators, relay systems, and related equipment.
- Conduct energy management related tasks and repairs, which comprise approximately 20% of the required essential job responsibilities.
- Submit work order completion, material requisition, and equipment data documentation on a timely basis using a computer-based system.
- Travel between stores to complete repairs as required.
- 5 years minimum experience in hands-on repairs, diagnosis, and maintenance of electrical switchgear, motors, emergency generators, and related equipment in a commercial or industrial electrical environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
- Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department.
- May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and color vision.
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions.
- Frequently lift/move up to 50lbs.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Some intermittent out-of-town travel is required.
- Ability to read electrical ladder diagrams and schematics, and have proven motor control experience.
- Ability to work safely around customers and colleagues.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Excellent trouble-shooting and electrical diagnostic skills are required.
- Ability to work without direct daily direct supervision.
