Position Summary:

The Personal Banker is essential in upholding the bank's reputation by delivering precise and efficient customer service during various financial transactions. This role involves managing customer interactions with care, including cashing checks, accepting deposits, and processing withdrawals, while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with bank policies and regulations. Additionally, the Personal Banker contributes to branch sales through effective cross-selling and referrals, enhancing overall customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transaction Management:
  • Accurately execute customer transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments.
  • Cash checks and disburse funds after verifying signatures and customer balances.
  • Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and resolve discrepancies in line with bank procedures.
Customer Service Excellence:
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a professional manner.
  • Engage proactively with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate bank products and services, aiding in achieving branch sales targets.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships by providing information and assistance regarding bank offerings.
  • Conduct outreach to existing and former customers to promote bank products and services.
Referral and Lead Generation:
  • Identify opportunities to refer customers to relevant bank specialists, enhancing customer engagement and branch profitability.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all bank products and services to effectively cross-sell and make suitable referrals.
Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, and regulations to mitigate fraud and manage risk.
  • Continuously update knowledge of bank offerings and regulations through ongoing training and professional development.
Administrative Duties:
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness and appearance of the branch through various housekeeping tasks.
  • Occasionally lift or move items up to twenty-five pounds.
  • Support other branches as needed during staff shortages.
  • Comply with all applicable regulatory requirements and policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Department Head.

Qualifications:

  1. College degree or equivalent; further education in business or a related field is advantageous.
  2. Bilingual skills are desirable.
  3. Previous experience in customer service, cash handling, sales, or a related role is preferred.
  4. Skills:
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and capable of operating standard office equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • May require occasional extended hours to meet operational and sales needs.
  • Standard office environment with occasional travel as needed.
