Job Title: Chemistry Professor

Washington Adventist University is seeking a highly qualified Chemistry Professor to join our faculty. As a Chemistry Professor, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate chemistry courses, developing curriculum, and advising students.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach two to three chemistry courses per semester, including upper-division courses in organic, analytical, or physical chemistry.
  • Develop an elective course in your area of expertise, complementing the overall emphasis of the program.
  • Design small research projects for students, with opportunities for summer research activities and programs for visiting high school students.
  • Advise Biochemistry undergraduates and pre-allied health students, assisting them in devising class schedules and meeting graduation requirements.
  • Oversee undergraduate teaching assistants and waste management operations, contributing to the development and improvement of the Biochemistry program.
  • Serve on at least two college committees, including the Pre-Professional School Screening Committee.
  • Participate in recruitment activities for the Department, helping to maintain a competitive and growing program.
Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. degree in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Biochemistry from an accredited university.
  • Post-doctoral experience desired.
  • Prior college or university teaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to integrate technology into course delivery and practical life applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the university's philosophy and mission.
