Adjunct Professor of Organic Chemistry

Washington Adventist University is seeking a qualified candidate to teach undergraduate Organic Chemistry and associated laboratory courses.
Job SummaryThe Department of Biology and Chemistry at Washington Adventist University is looking for a part-time instructor to teach Organic Chemistry lectures and laboratory sessions. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching undergraduate Organic Chemistry and a strong background in the subject matter.
Responsibilities- Teach Organic Chemistry lectures and associated laboratory sessions for science majors.
- Develop and implement course content using lectures, demonstrations, class discussion, and other educational delivery methods.
- Prepare course outlines and syllabi, develop course and lesson plans, and select teaching aids necessary for instruction.
- Engage with students through a Learning Management System (LMS) and provide timely feedback and grades.
- Hold office hours and supervise laboratory sessions and equipment.
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Familiarity with Infrared (IR) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and HPLC instruments and their applications.
- Ability to integrate technology into course delivery and communicate with a diverse student population.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Prior college or university teaching experience preferred.
