Job Title: Assistant Research Professor, Nuclear Engineering

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team as an Assistant Research Professor in Nuclear Engineering at Penn State University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, bioengineering, or a related field, with expertise in nanomaterials and their applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in the development of novel materials for biomedical applications, including design, synthesis, and characterization of nanomaterials.
  • Develop and implement novel nucleic acid-based probes for infectious disease and cardiovascular disease.
  • Collaborate with the PI to secure external grants and contracts, and participate as co-investigator or co-PI.
  • Mentor graduate students and postdocs in the lab and write manuscripts.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Bioorganic Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis, including organic synthesis, nanoparticle characterization, and molecular biology techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
