Key Responsibilities:


Assist in the creation of various systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.

Oversee system requirements and their derived counterparts to guarantee the successful delivery of production systems that align with established system architectures such as the Department of Defense Architecture Framework and Service-oriented Architecture (SOA).

Support the formulation of system and functional requirements, ensuring their allocation to specific hardware, software, facilities, and personnel components.

Facilitate the resolution of action items arising from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program assessments, and testing evaluations that necessitate cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Engage in an Integrated Product Team to conceptualize new capabilities based on a thorough evaluation of all relevant development and operational factors.

Contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.

Participate in defining interfaces, designing modifications, and managing configuration changes among involved parties throughout the system lifecycle.
Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to system and subsystem components.

Extract from system requirements a comprehensive understanding of stakeholder needs, including functions that may be logically inferred as critical to system performance.

Derive detailed lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements, ensuring these are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable.

Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.

Participate in establishing and securing approval for the definition of a system or component under development (requirements, designs, interfaces, test procedures, etc.) that serves as a common reference for hardware and software developers.

Define the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which systems, subsystems, and work products are validated against their requirements in a documented plan.

Develop system design solutions that meet the system requirements and fulfill functional analysis.

Formulate derived requirements for Information Assurance Services (Confidentiality, Integrity, Non-repudiation, and Availability); Basic Information Assurance Mechanisms (e.g., Identification, Authentication, Access Control, Accountability); and Security Mechanism Technology (Passwords, cryptography, discretionary access control, mandatory access control, hashing, key management, etc.).

Review and provide feedback on program and contract work breakdown structures (WBS), work packages, and the integrated master plan (IMP).


Essential Qualifications:
A minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
