Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in coding, developing testing methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging.

Preferred skills:
  • Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • 2 years of experience providing technical leadership and leading projects (e.g., test, release, etc.).
  • 1 year of experience working with executive leaders.

Role Overview: The Test Engineer position at Google emphasizes pioneering testing methodologies and automation. Unlike conventional manual testers, Test Engineers at Google utilize scripting to automate testing processes and develop tools for developers to conduct their own code tests.

In this role, you will assess Google's extensive codebase, identify vulnerabilities, and continuously devise advanced strategies to detect software issues. Your contributions will significantly enhance the quality of Google's expanding range of products and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the enhancement and development of automation tools for product and engineering improvement.
  • Create test plans following Product Excellence/test strategies and conduct test plan reviews with engineers and stakeholders.
  • Establish the test framework, preconditions, and other functions for effective functionality testing.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance existing test infrastructure and promote efficiency and productivity in test case development.
  • Engage in product design reviews to contribute to design, testability, and implementation.
