Job Summary:

The Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Food Service Manager in Training. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our food service department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the management team to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Meet with the manager to complete scheduled training assignments and take an active role in learning all essential functions of a manager.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the manager at least once a week to gain hands-on experience.
  • Attend all meetings and in-services scheduled by the Food Service Department to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
  • Complete daily scheduled responsibilities, including food preparation, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Comply with employee standards of conduct, including dress code, personal appearance, and behavior, as specified in the Food Service Handbook.
  • Attend the Food Handling/Sanitation Certification Class required by department guidelines to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Maintain food manager certification as required by the department to ensure the highest level of food safety and quality.
  • Be prepared to work at any district facility and transfer to any food service unit and position as needed.

Requirements:

  • TASN Certificate (or actively working towards certification)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to work with currency accurately
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties, including lifting up to 60 lbs. and working with machinery

Terms of Employment:

  • 182 days
  • 7.5 hour shifts
  • $15.98/NS4 salary (based on verifiable job-related experience)
