Clinical Lead for Ventilator Services

Position Overview:
The Senior Respiratory Therapist serves as a key clinician providing essential respiratory care to patients utilizing ventilators and other respiratory devices. This role is pivotal in guiding and supporting the Respiratory Therapy team, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes in alignment with AdaptHealth's standards. The clinician will deliver comprehensive respiratory care across various settings, focusing on preventative, rehabilitative, and palliative approaches. Collaboration with patients, healthcare teams, and external agencies is crucial to address patient care needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary resource for the Respiratory Therapy team, offering guidance and support for ventilator-dependent patients.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to team members, fostering professional development.
- Evaluate operational processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share expertise and enhance service delivery.
- Streamline documentation practices to improve efficiency in patient care.
- Assess team members' skills and provide feedback to enhance performance.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on best practices and advancements in respiratory care.
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards and maintain accurate patient records.
- Review and update treatment plans to ensure they meet current patient needs.
- Assist in the authorization process for ventilator referrals and other respiratory equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of respiratory equipment and clinical skills during patient interactions.
- Participate in discharge planning for complex cases, ensuring smooth transitions for patients and caregivers.
- Conduct educational sessions for healthcare staff regarding respiratory equipment and clinical practices.
- Maintain effective communication with healthcare providers and referral sources to address patient care issues promptly.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures at all times.
- Contribute to the development of new programs and initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Participate in on-call duties as required by company policy.
- Review patient records post-ventilator setup to ensure compliance with care plans.
- Maintain knowledge of reimbursement guidelines and assist in documentation for third-party payers.
- Work collaboratively with team members to resolve challenges and optimize patient outcomes.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Complete mandatory training and stay informed about compliance requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support team objectives.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
- Current and valid respiratory therapy license in all applicable states.
- CPR certification is required.
- A minimum of three years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy, with a focus on ventilator management.
- Valid driver's license for travel as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Capability to work in various environments, including potentially stressful situations.
- Willingness to travel within the service area as required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
