Logistics and Operations Leader

This role is crucial for directing and enhancing all facets of production planning, storage, inventory oversight, transportation, supplier enhancement, and materials administration.
The Logistics and Operations Leader will guarantee that their team consistently advances and meets or surpasses essential performance indicators associated with these responsibilities.
Position Requirements:
Propel performance management and enhancement in the Logistics function across key metrics: production schedule compliance, inventory turnover, precision, material usage variance, timely delivery to clients, punctual delivery from suppliers, global freight expenses, and departmental budget management.
Guide the Logistics team in collaborating with Engineering during the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, evaluating process efficiency, refining customer communication pathways, providing precise planning data, and ensuring adherence to quality system standards.
Enhance and leverage the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to improve customer delivery, production scheduling, supplier collaboration, inventory oversight, and materials administration while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Support the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process for logistics, customer-specific needs, and packaging.Drive ongoing improvement initiatives within the Logistics team, focusing on the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Coordinate production schedules with manufacturing teams to ensure that production plans align with logistics capabilities and demand forecasts.
Lead and cultivate a high-performing logistics team. Provide training and development opportunities for team members and foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
Identify, assess, and select suppliers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Ensure compliance with established safety policies, practices, and all company regulations.
Maintain adherence to current customer-specific requirements as applicable.
Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with the overall business objectives.
Establish and manage inventory policies and procedures that optimize stock levels while minimizing costs.
Oversee the transportation and distribution of incoming products from suppliers and finished products to clients. Supervise warehouse operations, coordination of logistics providers, and logistics expenditures.
Identify and mitigate risks within the logistics chain and develop contingency plans for disruptions.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards and implement and maintain sustainable logistics practices that engage in fair trade practices and promote ethical behavior and social responsibility within the logistics chain.
Manage the department's budget, including forecasting and monitoring expenditures.Maintain clear and effective communication with relevant department personnel.
Lead efforts to identify and resolve advanced, high-profile issues quickly and efficiently.
Contribute to the strategic planning and long-term vision of the worldwide technical capacity of facilities.
Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

APICS-CPIM/CIRM certification, preferred.
Experience in implementing, optimizing, and sustaining an ERP System, required.
Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Automotive manufacturing, preferred.
Five (5) years of experience to be considered, required.
